Intilecta for Microsoft Outlook
Intilecta for Microsoft Outlook is a fully-integrated add-in for Microsoft Outlook that is executed whenever Outlook runs.
It includes a navigation taxonomy and designware content panels that are presented to users fully integrated with the Outlook client. The Outlook client runs a local database and supports an "occasionally-connected" scenario which allows for offline use.
Synchronisation and offline operation
One of the core philosophies behind the Outlook client is the visualisation of enterprise data where and when it is required. The client periodically synchronises with the server to ensure the latest data is cached on the user's computer, making it accessible regardless of whether there is a network connection available.Dynamic designware deployment
Intilecta's software platform architecture has been designed to support a very flexible and dynamic deployment model for new designware. Content panels are built to function in relative isolation from each other and are deployed through a central location. An application administrator uploads the new designware package to the database, and then each client synchronises the content panels down to the local database, from where they are dynamically loaded at runtime. This provides an extremely flexible deployment model that allows designware to be progressively rolled out and refined over time.Synchronisation Policies
The Synchronisation Policies feature allows an application administrator to define rules about which types of network connections a synchronisation should be performed over. This supports scenarios such as ensuring that a synchronisation is not performed when connected via a very slow or expensive dial-up connection.Bliki
The Bliki is a collaborative help system based on a combination of a Blog and Wiki. A Bliki is tied to each individual lever and provides a means of documenting the business rules associated with the designware lever and underlying structures as well as a knowledge sharing repository. All sections of the Bliki are editable (permissions are tied to roles and users) which creates an open, community based sharing forum across an organisation.Usage Logging
The Intilecta for Microsoft Outlook client includes detailed logging of end-user usage behaviour. This includes details on when users are accessing each panel and how long they are viewing the panels for. These usage statistics are synchronised back to the server and available in report form to managers and other interested parties.System Requirements
